WARNING: Don’t call any maths tutor until you read this

Maths tutoring (done well) can boost your child’s confidence and help your child catch-up, keep up and get ahead in mathematics.

Unfortunately, a lot of tutoring is only marginally helpful, totally ineffective . . . or even counter-productive!

Who am I and why should you listen to me?

I took on my first paid tutoring client 23 years ago and have been a full-time, professional mathematics tutor and mathematics development consultant for 17 years.

Also, having managed a tutoring agency specialising in mathematics (several years ago now), I have worked closely with a broad cross-section of tutors and families.

My decades of direct experience are supplemented with seven years full-time university education directly relevant to mathematics and the psychology of how people learn.

Based on my 20 000+ hours tutoring, I know what works and have seen amazing improvement with my students . . . But I’ve learnt a lot MORE about what DOESN’T work!

Discover how to tell if a tutor can REALLY help your child

Some of these crucial distinctions I have learnt over the years, could make a big difference to you when choosing a maths tutor. These include:

  • The dynamics at play that lead to unproductive tutoring if left unchecked
  • A warning sign that a tutor is not likely to help your child
  • One thing your maths tutor MUST . . . or 87% of the benefits of your child’s lesson “evaporate” within 48-hours
  • The fatal error that can cause tutoring to cross over from “not that great” to actually harmful
  • Why students who “get” how to do a problem with their tutor often go blank when faced with a similar question on a test – and what to do about it

FREE 15-minute phone consultation

If you would like to discuss the points above (and how they relate to your child’s situation), you can arrange a FREE 15-minute phone consultation. You can equip and empower yourself with the tools to choose a maths tutor who will boost your child’s confidence and progress in mathematics.

Simply call or text me on 0409 439 018 to arrange your FREE consultation. (I can be hard to catch. The quickest way to find a mutually suitable time is to text me and suggest some times you are available to talk.)

Why am I doing this?

These days I focus on a specialised set of services and resources to help students succeed in mathematics.

If anything I offer could benefit your child, the 15-minute consultation gives me a chance to tell you about it.

(No ‘sales pitch’, though. Just a friendly chat. What I do isn’t for everyone and I turn away more clients than I accept).

Most of the call is about your child’s needs and how you can identify tutor’s who are likely to be able to help (and avoid those who may do more harm than good.)

Call or text me now on 0409 439 018. You’ll be glad you did.
